Mobile Deposit Capture

The mobile deposit feature allows you to make a check deposit via Mobiliti, by photographing the front and back of your check with your mobile device and submitting that image for deposit to your account.

Educational Tips on using Mobile Check Deposit

 

  • Before logging into the Mobile Deposit app, close all other apps running in the background on your mobile phone.
  • Sign/Endorse the back of your check, and label it "For Mobile Deposit Only."
  • When prompted for the amount, carefully enter the check amount to ensure it matches the amount written on your check.
  • Flatten folded or crumpled checks before taking your photos.
  • Keep the check within the view finder on the camera screen when capturing your photos.
  • Try not to get too much of the areas surrounding the check.
  • Take the photos of your check in a well-lit area.
  • Place the check on a solid dark background before taking the photo.
  • Keep your phone flat and steady above the check when taking your photos.
  • Hold the camera as square to the check as possible to reduce corner to corner skew.
  • Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus before submitting your deposit.
  • No shadows across the check.
  • All four corners are visible.

  • What is Mobile Deposit and how does it work?
    • Mobile Deposit allows you to deposit checks into your account using the camera on your mobile device. The image of the check is credited electronically to your account. Mobile Deposit is available to anyone with Mobiliti (mobile banking.) Make certain both sides of the check are captured.

 

  • Does Mobile Deposit cost anything?
    • No, it is a service provided free of charge from Peoples Bank of Kentucky.

 

  • What should the endorsement be?
    • You should sign your check as usual and also add "for mobile deposit only at Peoples Bank" below your signature.

 

  • What should I do with the paper check after I deposit it?
    • It is a best practice to keep the paper copy for 45 days. Once that time has passed, you should write "VOID" on it and shred or tear into small pieces.

 

  • What are the daily deposit limits?
    • $1,000 per check and $2,000 daily deposit limit.

 

  • How soon will the deposits be available?
    • Deposits made before 3:00pm est. will be credited that evening. Any deposit after 3:00pm est. will be deposited on the next days business.

 

  • When is the cutoff time?
    • 3:00pm est.

 

  • Will Mobile Deposit tell me if the check image has been captured?
    • You will be advised your deposit was successful. However, it will not show as pending via the online app but will show as posted the next day.

 

  • What checks can be deposited?
    • Any checks drawn on a bank in the United States. Third party checks or checks made payable to someone other than named on the account cannot be accepted.
